The biggest challenge of the construction of Taipei Stadium was that the running tracks must be certified by the IAAF. According to the requirements, the venue’s surface evenness should be less than PLUS MINUS6mm when measuring with a 3m ruler. The vertical drainage gradient should not be larger than 1/1000, and the horizontal drainage gradient should not be larger than 1/100. The New Construction Office team demonstrated its achievements with this construction. After measurement, the error was less than PLUS MINUS4mm. Certified by the technicians of IAAF, they drew the lines themselves. Before the Universiade, Taipei Stadium was certified as a Class 1 venue by the IAAF.

After the completion of the diving platform at University of Taipei – Shih-hsin Hall, has become the only diving venue that met the requirements of FINA in Taiwan. Its height was 15m in total. With the diving board broadened and adjusted during the construction, architects had to overcome the barriers of the existing facilities in the venue. With the intensive meetings held between the New Construction Office, design, and construction manufacturers, the problems were solved smoothly. With all the efforts, the venue was inspected and certified by FISU technicians to meet the standards of FINA.
